About Me

I live in Champaign, Illinois, my pronouns are she/her, and I attend University Laboratory High School as a junior. I'm extremely interested in biomedical engineering and would love to enter the medical field in the future. I also like crunching numbers and statistics is something I spend a lot of time on. In my spare time, I love to play video games, swim, explore new cafes, and window shop.

Research Experience

I was pretty nervous at first! I was researching a topic I was almost clueless on and wasn't sure how my mentor would pair with me in terms of interest and personality. As time went on, I became more comfortable and confident with myself and asking questions. I was able to really learn a lot throughout this program and develop a deeper interest in this field. Additionally, Talaria made me think about whether I wanted to do more research in the future or not - which I do! It also helped me realize specific fields I could enter rather than more broad and general ones.

Mentorship Experience

Dr. Amrita Sule was very kind and patient throughout the whole research process! She provided me with lots of helpful resources and suggestions which allowed me to improve my paper even further.

Favorite Part of Talaria

I really enjoyed just learning about a new topic and getting the opportunity to work with someone who had years of experience and knowledge.

Who I Recommend Talaria For

I think all kinds of students! Little or lots of research experience, I think all students would be able to benefit from Talaria and the invaluable experience it provides. It really allows individuals to reflect on a topic and realize whether the process of research is something they want to do. I'm very grateful for this experience and will try to continue to participate next year!
