Talaria has given me opportunities to connect with mentors from NASA, something I would never have had the chance to in my normal day to day life.

Research Experience

The first 2 weeks of the program I was still very new to something of my project like what SETI is and what it stood for but as I kept reading I felt more comfortable in my topic. At first I felt uncertain because I had a travel week scheduled for the second week of the program but my mentor helped me through and we met twice the third week to make up for lost time. It definitely has influenced my future interest and strengthen my love for astrophysics.

Mentorship Experience

I had a lovely time with my mentor she was so nice and even connected me with a Puerto Rican that works in the same lab as her! She gave me the tools to learn more about scientific writing. My mentor also gave me the opportunity to write a guest blog post for her blog which is awesome!

Favorite Part of Talaria

I really liked the flexibility this program offered. I could work on the research paper with or without meeting my mentor then send her everything.

Who I Recommend Talaria For

I would recommend Talaria for any student unsure of their career path, but is a dedicated and passionate student.

Advice for Future Applicants

I would say that the best learning opportunities come from getting out of your comfort zone.
