About Me

I am a senior at Newport High School in Bellevue, WA interested in biomedical engineering. The extracurriculars I participate in are volleyball and piano. My favorite hobbies are hanging out with friends and road tripping with my family. I have a cat named Coco who is very fluffy and big!

Research Experience

The first 1-2 weeks of the program I was very excited to meet my professor and to start working with him. I have always wanted to do a research project so I had been greatly looking forward to this experience. Throughout the program, I learned more and more about membrane-less organelles. I continued to be excited to connect with my professor and work together. After participating in Talaria, I am even more sure about performing research and entering the STEM field.

Mentorship Experience

My experience working with my mentor went really well! We met on a regular basis while I did asynchronous work such as researching and writing the literature review. When we met, I would get mini-lectures on membrane-less organelles, and my mentor would answer any questions I had about condensates. My mentor also answered questions that related more to being an undergraduate research student, how to reach out to professors, etc. In fact, my favorite part about participating in Talaria was meeting my mentor and working together.

Who I Recommend Talaria For

I recommend Talaria for students who are diligent, eager to learn, and interested in STEM.
