About Me

Talaria has provided free, useful and expert mentorship to low income students like me. Talaria also has made a great job accommodating students necessities while providing opportunities worldwide. It has made easier our access to specialized information and mentors. Finally, it has created a community of support that encourages young women to complete research and pursue a scientific career.

Research Experience

I was nervous about not doing enough reading or not having great ideas for the project. I wasn't confident enough to write a scientific paper and present my discoveries to my peers. My mentor helped me to gain confidence and narrow my research topic, as well as provide me with the resources to complete a research paper. Finally, with all the final presentations, I gained confidence to present to everyone my results.

Mentorship Experience

It was really great. First it was purely academic, but as I am very interested in her research area I found the opportunity to ask her more about her daily job in the lab, some controversial topics we are passionate about and even I ended up asking some advise for my college degree. In terms of the paper, they were very helpful in providing an outline for the research project and being super specific about the things I had to do during the week.

Any student interested in the science, with some free time during the summer, eager to learn and meet women from all over the world.

Definitely apply, is a one in a life time opportunity to do research in high school guided by a renowned mentor, and an opportunity to network with other women with the same interests as you and get resources to continue your pursuit for a career in science and a higher education.
